Clinical Experience of Herbal Medicine for Heat-clearing and Detoxification

This class is for practitioners only

The class material will cover introduction of Toxic (Du) in TCM, TCM treatment strategies for Heat-clearing & detoxifying, commonly used Heat-clearing and detoxifying herbs and formulas, and clinical applications of Heat-clearing and detoxifying herbs and formulas. The speakers will also present case study and TCM masters’ clinical experience in Heat-clearing and detoxifying.

At the end of the course, participants be able to: 1. Integrate the historical context in classic textbooks into clinical practice,2. Explain the traditional concepts of Clearing Heat & detoxification,3. Apply the commonly used Heat Clearing Herbs & Formulas to treat infection and inflammatory diseases, and,4. Retrieve peer-reviewed research articles to clinical practice.

Speakers:

Eric (Lung-Cheng) Hsiao, Ph.D., L.Ac. and Lawrence (Lung-Sheng) Hsiao, Ph.D., L.Ac. are full-time faculty and clinical supervisors of Southern California University of Health Sciences. They have published numerous articles in TCM topics and lectured frequently. Drs. Hsiao and Hsiao shadowed TCM masters in China during their Ph.D. program and have engaged in herbal medicine education for over two decades.
